Dougal, in his prime, was a great hunter. He was also a gentleman such that he only brought one of his many victims in the doggie door. The Opossum was still alive but unconscious. Dougal was so proud of his catch that he wanted to share the glory.
Dougal went peacefully and is with St. Francis (patron saint of the animals) who also keeps watch over Snapple and my other pups that predeceased Dougal. All are playing happily at the Rainbow Bridge awaiting the time when we will be reunited.

Dear Vickie,
.
I felt sorry for your lost of Dougal. I am sure Oscar will miss him too. (You have helped us with Oscar ~ 2009 when we had a vacation).
Our Oscar is also becoming a lot slower recently and starting to get very bad itchy skin that he didn’t have before. He is about 1 or 2 year younger than your Dougal. It is not easy to watch them getting old
Please take care,
Jesse & Oscar

Oh Jesse, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. It is never easy to lose our little buddies. I remember that Oscar used to love to watch the TV and would bounce up and down when a dog would cross the screen. Oscar and Dougal will play at the Rainbow Bridge unhindered by illness and become best of friends, I’m certain!
